TFA Cosplay

Well, I’ve gotten the first of the Fanime 2013 photos up which you can see by clicking that link back there. These particular ones are my set; I should have the rest, hopefully by this weekend. Gensao’s is going to be…interesting…considering how he tends to take photos, heh.

Goddamn Olympus had a bit of dust on the censor…that was a bitch to clean up. In any event, I have now uploaded the pics for ACEN 2013 on the day after the convention…somehow, heh. Actually managed to fill up a memory card on the Olympus and even sap its battery completely. Never done that before. As such it’s obvious I’ll need a spare for that thing if I’m going to keep using it as a secondary camera for when I cosplay.

As is always the case, should any cosplayer want raw and/or unedited JPG’s of their cosplay, let me know and I will make them available. Enjoy!

I apologize profusely for the delay and will submit myself to the nearest hot leggy blonde dominatrix with spine grinder high heels for punishment. In any event, here are Gensao’s Animation On Display photos. I suspect in time, I’ll categorize them a little better, since most are from concerts, the masquerade, and other events, but the main page will remain constant.

Well, while Dragon’s Anime is continued to be worked on, I figured it was time to do a little housekeeping myself. I’ve upgraded gallery and wordpress to their current versions which was not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

I’ve also added a couple of new features: an Add This button for all your social media and a lightbox type application. The Add this button can be used to add a pic that you like to damn near any social media site you can think of. The lightbox application works a slightly different philosophy than it did back in the time of Gallery2. It basically works when you want to open a full sized version of the picture on its picture page. From there, you can navigate the gallery much as you would have with the original Lightbox application in gallery2, if you so desire; you can even use your scroll wheel for those that have one. If you wish to open the picture in its own browser or tab, just right click on it, and click on open in new browser or tab.

As time goes on I’ll be adding a few new features and doing some general maintenance which should be mostly transparent.

Now to get some AOD pics from Mayhem, Gensao, and possibly Peo.

So, as I struggle to catch up with various bits of data here and there, I finally get to putting up Gensao’s Sac Anime Summer 2012 pics, which consist of his normal pics, his pics from the Masqueradee, and his pics from the various concerts that went on during and after the Masquerade. Gensao, I want you to know it’s because of you that I’m going to start segregating photos into various categories. Just sayin’.

Also, if you like dinosaurs, I wound up hitting up the Jurassic Con event for a few hours this weekend. It was a nifty little event filled with fossils, bones, movie props from Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jason and the Argonauts, Land of the Lost, Super Mario Brothers, and various others. You can find the pics of it here as well. Taken with my Olympus, and I’m finally getting that little device to do what I tell it to do.

So, as I slog through some old pics, I find that Gensao has bequeathed me, not only his Sac Anime Summer 2012 pics, but also his Fanime 2011 pics; including that mega-dose of pics from the main stage of the Masquerade which are no included in their own folder with Mayhem’s Masquerade Backstage.

I’ll be getting to the Sac Anime Pics in short order, and hope I’ll get a minireport done sometime soon as well. If you’re one of the cosplayers and want a larger, unedited, and/or raw version of your pic(s), send me a message and I’ll make theme available. Well, in Gensao’s case, all I have are the JPG’s given his enormous picture taking proclivity, but if you really want the raws, I’ll see about contacting him concerning them. Have fun!

Well, as you can see by heading to the main page of the gallery, that I’ve gone ahead and done a complete reorganization. If a convention or event has two or more entries it gets its own folder, which will then be divided by date and then by photographer and event as applicable.

However, I’m pretty sure most don’t really care about such mundane topics like organization and that you’re probably looking for the first of the Sac Anime Summer 2012 pics, which you can find right here. T’was a fun year, despite me coughing my lungs out after the show, and I’m really liking my new camera the more I use it. Swear to all that is evil and unholy, if I have to do this again any time soon, I’m going to fry this mudball of a planet…

Oh, hi all! If you’ve been to the gallery any time in the past day, you’ll note that I’ve been upgrading the damn thing with new technology, or in this case, Gallery 3. This was required because, as many have been screaming at me, the Gallery 2 based website was malfunctioning badly. This was due to the upgrade to version 5.x of PHP on my webhost. Theoretically, the version of Gallery 2 I was running was supposed to be compatible, but we were all seeing the extremely slow response times, 500 errors, and broken thumbnails…assuming the thumbnails decided to load at all.

This has now been corrected. You’ll note that the site works slightly differently. You navigate with the arrows in the top right corner. Gone is the lightbox, though I hope to bring it back in the future. I’ve increased the amount of pics and rows per page considerably. If you want to see the full sized pic you’ll have to click on the pic again after opening it in its own page. These are still resized and edited pics, so in the future, I’ll see about the feasibility of uploading full sized pics. As time goes on, other features, such as some Facebook integration, will be added along with a complete rearrangement of the albums to make them a little more organized.

But what am I doing talking about all this? You’re here to see Anime Expo 2012 pictures, are you not? Well, here they are. So, working hard through the night, I now have the AM^2 pics processed and up. For a smaller convention, I got some really great shots. I’ll admit, it’s also nice to finally get the feel of my camera down. I expect that AX will be even better as far as that goes.
